Go Owls!

On Tuesday, while grown ups were voting in the General Election, our students were voting for their school colors.

At a special assembly this morning, Principal Dr. McKinney announced the results of Tuesday’s vote, and proudly unveiled our new school mascot!

But first, she showed us the check we received from Endolyne Joe’s for $1420! The whole K-5 STEM community would like to extend our sincere thanks to Endolyne Joe’s and everyone who took part in Dine Out for K-5 STEM – it was an incredible first fundraiser!

And now … here are the results:

  • School colors are true blue and lime green
  • Our proposed new name is West Seattle STEM Elementary
  • Our mascot is an owl

Graphic Designer Heidi Baughman and Principal Dr. McKinney unveil our new mascot

There was much cheering from the students when they saw our new mascot, designed by STEM parent and Graphic Designer, Heidi Baughman.

There will be no modifications or additions to the uniform policy, but the new mascot and colors will appear on spirit wear – giving kids more clothing options for school.

Contact the uniform committee to help with planning and fundraising for spirit wear.

We wish all our West Seattle STEM Elementary Owls a wonderful weekend!
