Amelia’s Aero Club

Join The Museum of Flight’s Amelia’s Aero Club as we take on the LEAF STEM Challenge. The Lindbergh Electric Aircraft (LEAF) STEM Challenge is an aviation-focused engineering design. We will work in small teams to design, build and fly an electric model aircraft that is able (hopefully) to successfully carry cargo on a tethered flight. This is will be very much a hands-on activity!  We’ll meet on Mondays, from dismissal to 5:15 p.m., September 25 to December 4. The final flight and presentation is the evening of Thursday, December 7, at The Museum of Flight.

By participating in the LEAF Challenge, you become a member of the Amelia’s Aero Club, an educational initiative of The Museum of Flight designed to inspire and nurture middle school girls in the exploration of STEA2M: Science, Technology, Engineering, Aviation, Art & Mathematics. Amelia’s members participate in all sorts of hands-on & social activities: Book clubs, sleepovers, field trips, robotics competitions, special events at the museum, and so much more!
