Black Lives Matter at School: Affirming Transgender Community

November is a month for Seattle Public Schools to continue our commitment to the Black Lives Matter at School Year of Purpose by uplifting and making space for our transgender students, colleagues, and community members. It is also a time for us to acknowledge the intersectional identity of our Black trans community. The trans affirming principle is a commitment to our trans community to recognize the trans antagonistic violence and cisgender privilege within ourselves, our schools, and our district, and work to dismantle the barriers that keep the transgender community from achieving true justice.
