2020 Auction News

Dear STEM friend,

Update on the Saturday Morning Cartoons & PJ’s Auction – originally scheduled for March, then May, then October. We are changing the TV channel off of Animaniacs (it’s much to Wakk-o!) and changing it over to MacGyver!

The past six months we’ve had to be problem-solvers, innovators, flexible, and improvise under unpredictable circumstances. A swiss-army knife isn’t SUPER helpful for COVID, but it will help you open up your Auction winnings – so get ready for the STEM MacGyver Virtual Live Auction!

The silent auction items will be online before and after October 9th, and live virtual auction will be October 9th @7pm and open to all – no tickets will be needed for this event.

Just this year we are flipping things around with the Auction in the Fall and the Direct Give in the Spring.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding during this time – the students, teachers and community depends on the monies raised and we are grateful for your support. Every year we say it’s imperative – this year more than ever every line-item has been carefully budgeted for supporting the needs of our community.

If you can help with auction planning, email robingraham26@gmail.com and save September 14th @7 for a zoom auction committee meeting.  The zoom information will be on the calendar event.

We have always been the school that “made it work” and we will this year too.

We’ve got this.

More information soon,

Robin Graham – Auction Chair

Book Fair Blizzard (December 4, 5 & 6)

All purchases benefit Classroom Libraries and the STEM K-8 Library

Two Book Fairs in One!

Ever wondered why our annual Book Fair Blizzard has SO MANY BOOKS? It’s because it’s actually two book fairs – an Elementary Fair (including PreK) and a Middle School Fair. While Scholastic has a book fair option for K-8 schools, it doesn’t give middle-schoolers much choice in books – so we bring in a middle school book fair too!

It’s a blizzard of books for everyone!
Tuesday, December 4th
3:25pm to 8:30pm
Wednesday, December 5th
8:00am to 10:00am & 2:10pm to 7:00pm
Thursday, December 6th
8:00am to 10:00am

Visit our online Book Fair: CLICK HERE (Open Nov. 26th through Dec. 9th)

Here you’ll find an even bigger selection of books pre-school through adult. You can also send wish-lists and e-cards to family and friends.

Book Fairs App makes finding the right book a snap!

All for Books!

Monday, November 26 is the start of our week-long All for Books campaign. We’re raising money so teachers can build their classroom libraries during our Book Fair Blizzard (December 4, 5 & 6). The money we raise also helps readers beyond our school. Every year, Scholastic matches the All for Books money raised nationwide with a donation of up to one million books to the Kids in Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.

Monday November 26 – Penny Day

Tuesday November 27 – Nickel Day

Wednesday November 28 – Dime Day

Thursday November 29 – Quarter Day

Friday November 30 – Dollar Day (coins or bills)

(Of course, spare change will be accepted on any of the above days!)

Students can donate every morning at the school entrance between 8:20am and 8:50am.

Our goal is to beat our record of $560!

Welcome Back to School!

Happy last sleep before school Owls! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Late bell is at 8:55 am.

Remember bus drivers are checking routes and students carefully during the first week of school and will be running late.

Be careful in crosswalks and school zones.

1st-5th classes will leave from the playground and Middle School will meet in the gym at the bell for homeroom assignments.

Join us for Decompression Coffee and muffins after the bell; meet new friends and celebrate the first day of school!

Tomorrow is NOT an EARLY RELEASE Wednesday! So Owls need to be picked up the usual time of 3:25 pm.

See you soon Owls! We are looking forward to a great year.
