SPS and STEM are in the midst of a busy budget process for the 2024-25 school year. Seattle Public Schools budget crisis has significant implications for all of our district’s schools, and STEM K-8 is no exception. Budget reductions are compounded system wide by lower student numbers and increased expenses. STEM will be grappling with how to address reductions in staff.
The district has a ton of information about the process here. You can check out the “Purple Book” here, which is the district’s comprehensive funding allocations for the 2024-2025 school year.
STEM is in the middle of its conversation with administration and staff right now, to creatively figure out how to do more with less and deal with the reductions in staff allocated by the district. We’ll post more updates as we get them.
