STEM K8 PTA executive team members purchased snacks and created signs and notes of affirmation for teachers, administration and staff of Louisa Boren STEM K8.
The snacks and messages were left in the staff lounge on the afternoon of Thursday, September 30 to commemorate completing the first month of in-person school in 2021!
“This year, it has been especially hard to connect with parents. Seeing this surprise in the staff lounge was wonderful encouragement that our work is recognized by parents,” said one STEM teacher.
STEM K8 PTA recognizes all Louisa Boren STEM K8 staff several times throughout the school year with small gifts paid for by the PTA budget.
Would you like to recognize a STEM K8 teacher or staff person? Use this online form!

Dear STEM Owls & Friends,
It’s been a hard year for our Owls. They haven’t gotten to see their friends, to build together, play together, learn together. Perhaps their family has been sick. Perhaps they themselves have been sick. Lives have been lost to injustice around the country, and the world. We at the PTA hear you, see you, feel this with you. But a new day is dawning. It’s the 100th day of school. The littlest Owls, learning to count, have collected their buttons, their stickers, their paperclips and googly eyes. Let’s join them, collecting steps, poetry, code, or anything that brings us hope. Let’s count our joys along with our sadness, our triumphs along with our losses. Let’s plan for the future.
It’s hard to ask for money right now. But we aren’t asking for this year. Our budget for this year was donated last year. This year, all the funds we raise will be spent next year, in the 2021-2022 school year. When our Owls can get back to learning to count, and code, and dream, and fly.
Our goal is $35,000.
We chose to Direct Give so that each dollar you donate goes directly to the school. Each donation is tax deductible, and many employers will match donations, increasing your gift to our school and community.

Our First STEM e-BOOK Fair! https://efairs.
Thank you to STEM PTA for hosting our first ever STEM e-Book Fair November 10th – 30th!
Over the last few years, we were seeking a book fair vendor that offered a more diverse variety of books to better represent our students and families. We had planned to offer an in-building Follett Book Fair last spring, but then COVID happened. Special thanks to Angela Wallis for stepping in as our e-Book Fair chairperson.
This is an opportunity to get books to our students to READ! READ! READ! READ! READ!
